How do I know what kind of sewing machine will fit in my cabinet used sewing?
I recently found agreement on a large (1960's) sewing cabinet shop more savings (solid wood with drawers in excellent condition!). It is not came with a machine, but seemed unable to accept most machines. So I got it and brought it home, hoping to take the machine I have one of the oldest in the Cabinet. However, I found that the old machine (1950?) Do not fit into my new office. (He mounted differently and was too short.) I intend to sell my old machine and the cabinet at a garage sale, and want to know what kind of machine I need to seek to work with my new cabinet. Instead of having a place for a rectangular base standard, it is more like an "L". The machines I have seen in stores recently does not match that. Like the wardrobe and want to find the right computer to fit so I can use it for my hobby sewing. Any help you could give me on this would be great. Thank you!
I bought an old wooden box (probably 80) strong and wanted to adapt it to my new machine. He had a manual spring lift it. My BF took the old lift and platform base. It put in air transportation from Rockler wood supply (such as those in the Horn cabinets, buy) and made a rectangular platform for machine to sit. Then I ordered an acrylic insert to fit around the bed of my machine http://www.dreamworld-inc.com/ that fit perfectly. The guy at Dreamworld was very useful, if you measure the opening of your office, maybe they could tell you what your cabinet manufacturer is or how to adapt to what the machine you want. Good Luck!
